Jamie Albertsen
Role in Procurement Services
I am an Associate Director of Procurement Services. I lead the team of Procurement Agents/Contract Managers and manage some of the University's larger IT contracts.
Educational Background and Employment History
I grew up and graduated high school in Nebraska (not a Husker fan) and graduated from Iowa State in 2004 with a degree in Business Management. I spent 10 years in cooperative purchasing for the K12 schools in Iowa, and tried private industry Vendor Management for a few years before coming back to public procurement as an IT Procurement Agent/Contract Manager at ISU in 2016.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Currently most of my time is spent in my car, transporting my 10 and 12 year old kids to all their sports, school, music and social activities. My favorite things are family vacations (Gulf Shores and Disney are two top spots) and socializing with friends and neighbors on a driveway or patio.
Jen Wichers
Role in Procurement Services
I’m a Marketing Specialist in Procurement Services. I spend most of my time upkeeping our website, making graphics, and doing photography.
Educational Background and Employment History
I grew up in Nebraska but made the move to Iowa for college. I graduated from Iowa State in 2018 in Integrated Studio Arts. While in college, I worked for a museum exhibit designer, where I designed signage and created interactive exhibits for kids. In my junior year, I started as a student worker in Procurement Services.
What do you like to do outside of work?
If I’m not at work, I’m probably driving to Nebraska to see family, playing video games, or doing art-related hobbies. My favorite hobby recently has been 3D modeling and printing what I make on one of my 3D printers.
